Reply with quote | #1 | I caught a 19 and a 20.5 within three casts to the same spot with a blade bait. The water temp. was 49, down from 58 a week prior. The spot consists of a van sized boulder near the end of a long tapering gravel and clay point that extends out toward the creek channel. I boca gripped the 19, and tied off the leash to a low hanging branch over shallow water, and paddled back out to the spot figuring that if they were that shallow (less than 10 feet), there were several nice ones there actively feeding. The next cast back in got snagged and I had to quietly drift in to free it. I let my momentum and the wind carry me out of the area so I could cast back in without spooking them. It worked. The 20.5 incher ticked the blade bait on the first little hop of the next cast to the same spot. I've never been able to get the double grip n grin type shot until today. I tried posting the pic after making the file size smaller, but the storage space was exceeded. It's on my website if anyone cares to look. Days like today make all those 1 fish days out there worth it! __________________ http://www.blueridgekayakfishing.com

Congrats on the great fish. Do you ever see many deer while on the res. I'm looking to get into some archery down that way and was wondering if you saw much. |
